Southlake Village Staff Awarded Nebraska Health Care Association Scholarship

The Southlake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center family is excited to announce that team members Samantha Billings, CNA and Gayle Resh, CTRS were awarded scholarships at the NNFA/NALA Spring Convention on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in Kearney.

Samantha Billings received one of four $750 LPN scholarships offered to individuals wishing to attend an LPN School of Nursing. Funds for nursing scholarships are made available through Health Care Information Systems and The Vetter Foundation in conjunction with NHCF. Billings is currently completing her Medication Aid program through Southeast Community College; she plans to attend LPN school in the fall of 2015 and eventually obtain her RN. Billings feels it is her calling to work with cancer patients and plans to make it her mission to help people through the most challenging parts of their lives.

Gayle Resh was awarded a $500 Nursing Home Administrator Scholarship offered to one individual wishing to attend a Nursing Home Administrator program. Resh is currently enrolled in the Nursing Home Administrator Program at Southeast Community College where she is obtaining her certification and is completing her mentor program with Larry Van Hunnik, NHA at Sumner Place in Lincoln, NE.
